kemana hilangnya permata nationalisme kita...

are we on the right track...if not, how can we tell?

while living remotely from my home country, i try my best to keep myself updated with the current issue's in malaysia. sad to know that currently, almost all malaysians who consume petrol and diesel for daily uses need to pay high price for it now. while this is happening, i try to figure out why it happened. according to my little knowledge, the price of oil in the world market according to www.oilegypt.com are as below:

while this is happening to most country in the world, malaysia can't be excluded from it eventhough we are known as one of the natural gas exporter to the world. to most malaysians i believe, anger and dissappoinment is building up inside them due to this and they are looking for a reasonable explanation from the government. supposedly, i believe that there is no short term solution for this matter but at the same time i do believe that eventually, we will reach to a level where the suffering caused by this unfairness is at its minimum level. while government is trying their best to improve the situation, a group of people which i believe does not represent the whole nation, are making this issue as a reason for them to stir the anger and hatred between the people and the government. i can say that i get confused and disappointed as i read the news about people making demonstration every week in order to show their disappointment towards the government about this matter. yes, it is unfair for the government to increase the price without early notice to the people but to be fair is hard and this will fall into another category. fairness is a subjective topic depending on which level you stand on and i would like not to say anything about it. im not saying that i support the action taken by the government regarding this issue, but what im trying to understand now is why the government did it in the first place and secondly, how should the people react to it in a correct way. i believe that everyone understand well enough that every move or action taken by the government, pleasant or unpleasant, will generate reaction from the people and it is an inevitable process. at this moment, im still looking for the closest and the best answer that can satisfy my question. and to add the heat, i welcome anyone to share their point of view regarding this matter and let it be a good debate.

while i have a lot of thing that i would like to express here, i believe i should stop now before i go to far. i have a lot of reading and notes that i need to cover for my studies so therefore, i will excuse myself now. i will save what i want to say today for the next entry. ta.

p/s: we live under the same sky, we speak different languages, we walk on a different soil, we believe that happiness is important but one thing for sure...we come from the same species where we fight each other for survival...and to our species, survival means power...and power make us greedy...and that is the worst part of it...
