to say or not to say...

hi people...how was weekend? any crazy stuff that you did untill you feel embarrass about it...nah, just for the sake of fun, let it go...anyway, me in hobart doesn't change a lot...just the weather...warm and nice...today i went to the city...looking for stuff for my mom and my sibling...gosh, it was so hard to find the right stuff...i've been walking up and down inside Target, just to find the right stuff for my bro, sis, mom and for my girl...wish i can bring them here and let them do the decision...duh, it is tiring...anyway, i end up my journey around the city by visiting my friend art exhibition in the art school...impressive eventhough its not a big one.

i'm intrested more in painting and visual art such as photography, oil and canvas painting, pastel drawing and anything that similar to it...later after that, catch a bus and went back home, clean myself and went out again to my friend house for dinner...sighh...it's a long day for me today...after hibernating myself like a polar bear for the past 48 hours...anyway, i enjoy the walk around the city today...

by the way, early this morning, after i finish my sahur and my subuh prayer...i did something that i've never done before...sent a comment to newspaper company, commenting about their article where i feel it doesn't relevant to the topic...wow, what a great experience for me...i'm not sure whether, are they going to publish it or not but i feel that i have done something right...

you can check out the article at :

"Malays tackle steep learning curve"
By SIMON BEVILACQUA, Sunday Tasmanian, Sunday 24 October '04

i respond to this article because i feel responsible for it...the way the report is being brought up is not relevant to the title given and they also make a "silly" mistake by (in the printed version of newspaper where you can't find it in the e-newspaper) stating the current King for Malaysia is HRH Yang di-Pertuan Agung Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah ibni Al-Marhum Hisamuddin Alam Shah and not HRH Yang di-Pertuan Agung Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail.

to me, it's a shamed for them for not doing their "homework" regarding this matter before they do the publishing and how come they can missed this during the editing session.

here are the copy of the letter or comment that i've send to them early this morning :

Referred to the article "Malays tackle steep learning curve" dated 24 October 2004 in the Sunday Tasmanian. As a Malaysian Malay, the word "Malay" in the headline actually caught my attention in the first place. According to the Microsoft Encarta 2004, Malay is defined as "people of Malays; relating to the Malay people, or their language or culture. Here, I would like to share some information of my country with you.

In the article, the object (refers to CHING Ling Yee) had described herself as Chinese Malaysian. Therefore, the word 'Malays' in the headline is deemed not appropriate. In fact, it should be written as 'Malaysians'. Malaysia is a melting pot of various culture and different races such as Malay, Chinese, Indians and etc living harmoniously in one country. Thus, the object's thoughts do not represent the Malays society in terms of culture, values and beliefs.

Also, our national language is known as Bahasa Malaysia throughout the world and not Bhasa Melayu as per stipulated in the article.

By the way, our present King is HRH Yang di-Pertuan Agung Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail. For your information, HRH Yang di-Pertuan Agung Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah ibni Al-Marhum Hisamuddin Alam Shah (as per mentioned in the article "Nation's power players") had passed away about 3 years ago on 22 November 2001.
